Sprex, Inc., was established in 1995 by Thomas C. Veatch, Ph.D. Sprex specializes in language education and speech recognition and synthesis technology. Dr. Veatch has a B.A. in Linguistics from Stanford University, a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania, was a professor at Stanford University, where he taught phonetics from 1991 to 1993, and founded Sprex in 1995.
