Insulation-Batt/Blown Scope: 1. Provide all labor, material, hand tools, equipment (including safety equipment), supervision, supplies, and other incidentals necessary to install the insulation work and perform all such work in accordance with the contract drawings, specifications, addenda, and other documents that make up the contract documents but not limited to the following: a. Batt and blown insulation to form a continuous envelope between the interior conditioned air space and the exterior unconditioned air space b. A separate vapor barrier if one is not included in the above insulation c. Sound insulation as shown on the drawings 2. Install all work according to the specifications, procedures, and practices prescribed by the manufacturer(s). 3. Fill all cracks and joints in excess of 1/4 inch with insulation to maintain the integrity of the exterior envelope. 4. Place baffles at soffits as needed to assure a 1-inch space for air intake. 5. Allow a 1-inch space above all insulation in cathedral ceilings for air flow. 6. Seal with expandable foam all openings around windows, doors, piping, ducts, receptacles in exterior envelope walls, and other areas as required by code. 7. Clean up all materials resulting from the work and remove from the site. Optional Scope Items: 8. Use safing insulation in all fire-rated walls and floors to seal penetrations for pipe, wire, and duct as required by the building codes or fire department. Exclusions: 1. Insulation in masonry units (included in Masonry-Concrete Masonry Units) 2. Any rigid wall or roof insulation boards 3. Roof insulation (included in Roofing-Built-up) 4. Rigid insulation (included in Carpentry-Siding)
