Concrete Foundations Scope: 1. Provide all labor, hand tools, equipment (including safety equipment), supervision, supplies, and other incidentals necessary to install the concrete foundation systems and perform all such work in accordance with the contract drawings, specifications, addenda, and other documents that make up the contract documents but not limited to the following: a. Pad, isolated, continuous, strip, and spread footings b. Piers and foundation walls c. Rebar, inserts, anchors, and connecting devices in the concrete associated with this work d. Control joints, construction joints, and expansion joints in the work e. Bulkheads and screeds f. Waterstops g. Unloading, setting, and aligning of all embedded plates h. Layout work i. Establishing grades j. Blockouts in walls 2. Square building and check all dimensions. Do not measure just the sides and diagonals. 3. Dispose of excess spoil material in an area designated by the project superintendent. 4. Level top of footing within 1/2 inch. 5. Rub and smooth all exposed vertical concrete and fill voids. 6. Remove and clean up excess concrete resulting from the placement. 7. Install steps in the foundation as needed to follow the slope of the lot. 8. Place all concrete on undisturbed soil. 9. Material overruns are the expense of trade contractor. 10. Waterproof wall. 11. Provide formwork: a. Excavate any soils needed to install forms and place concrete in this work. b. Prepare forms to ensure proper quantity of concrete is used. c. Erect and remove all formwork. d. Rub and smooth all exposed vertical concrete after stripping. e. Tool finish all exposed edges. f. Remove all snap tie ends. Optional Scope Items: 12. Turn in all transit mix delivery tickets to the project superintendent daily. 13. Do not add more than 1 gallon of water to each cubic yard of concrete. 14. Protect all adjacent work. Exclusions: 1. Building corner offset and elevation benchmark provided by others 2. Concrete flat work 3. Site hardscape 4. Materials paid for by others
